VISIT CANADA
Want to travel to Canada?
Canada is on your mind, but the next step may be unclear. If a temporary visit is your goal, start with help making sense of the application and what to prepare.

YOUR GOAL COMES FIRST
Start with what you want to do in Canada.
A family visit, a holiday and a permanent move are different goals. This service is for a genuine temporary visit. If what you want is a longer-term future abroad, say that at the beginning so you can explore the relevant study or immigration route before spending money on the wrong application.
This is a useful starting point if…
- You want to visit family or friends, travel for leisure or discuss another permitted temporary purpose.
- You need help organising the purpose of the trip, who will pay and the documents that explain your circumstances.
- You have started an application or have a previous decision and want to clarify the preparation work available.
A Canadian visitor visa does not give you permission to take a job. If your main goal is work or permanent residence, start with that goal rather than describing it as a holiday.
YOUR PACKAGE, EXPLAINED
Canada Visitor Visa Preparation
You do not need a finished itinerary to ask your first question. Our Canada Visitor Visa Preparation package starts with your real reason for travelling, the records you already have and the gaps to work through. You get an agreed preparation scope before deciding whether to go ahead.
What we can help you prepare
- An initial discussion of your travel purpose and application stage
- A preparation checklist for your circumstances
- Review of how financial evidence and travel-purpose documents are organised
- Invitation-letter preparation guidance, where relevant
- Application-form and supporting-document preparation within the agreed scope
- A submission checklist and biometrics instructions, where applicable
A visitor application is not a guarantee of a visa or admission at the border. For any paid Canadian immigration advice or representation, confirm the authorized professional responsible before engaging the service.
KNOW WHAT TO PREPARE
Canada Visitor Visa: your starting checklist.
Use this to see what you already have and what needs attention. The final checklist depends on your route and circumstances. You do not upload documents here.
- Valid passport
- Purpose of visit and intended travel dates
- Financial support evidence and bank statements
- Employment, business or other relevant evidence of your ties at home
- Travel history and previous visas
- Accommodation plans, itinerary and an invitation with host documents, where applicable
- Family information and biometrics, when required
Make the records useful.
- Travel purpose and invitation
- An invitation, where relevant, should explain the real relationship and visit. It supports the story of the trip; it does not replace the rest of the application.
- Money for the visit
- Prepare records explaining who will pay and how the proposed trip fits the available funds. Avoid treating a single bank balance as the whole financial explanation.
- Your circumstances at home
- Employment, business, studies and family responsibilities can help explain your situation. Use relevant, truthful evidence rather than collecting unrelated paperwork.
Start with a summary in your enquiry. Keep passport numbers, bank statements and other private records out of the first message.
A CLEARER WAY TO START
How Canada visitor-visa preparation works
These steps explain the preparation to discuss. Your written service scope confirms which tasks are included.
Start my Canada visit enquiryExplain your reason for travelling
Describe who you want to see or what you want to do, your approximate dates and how long the trip would last. You can start with an outline rather than a paid booking.
Build a checklist around your circumstances
Separate the documents you already hold from records you need to request. A family host, self-funded trip and sponsored visit can involve different supporting information.
Connect your trip and financial evidence
Organise the planned duration, accommodation and funding together. If someone else will support the trip, identify that person and the evidence available to explain the arrangement.
Prepare and check the application information
Keep names, travel history, family details and dates consistent with your genuine records. Include previous visa decisions when requested and clarify missing information before submission.
Follow the official next steps
Use the official instructions for biometrics and any additional request. Keep copies of what was submitted and follow the application through the appropriate official account or agreed representative.
BEFORE YOU COMMIT
Understand the full cost.
The support fee is one part of your budget. Ask for the currency, included tasks and payment terms in writing, then account for the separate charges.
Read our fees & service information ↗- Preparation service
- Request a written quote showing the service currency, document work, submission assistance and payment stages. Ask who is authorized to provide any paid immigration advice.
- Official application costs
- Visa charges and biometrics, where required, are paid separately. Check the current IRCC fee list and any additional requirements for your own case.
- The trip itself
- Accommodation, flights, insurance and spending money need their own budget. A service payment does not cover the cost of travelling to or staying in Canada.
Paid separately: Official visa charges, biometrics where required, medical examinations, translation and other third-party costs are separate. The service fee does not include flights, accommodation or insurance.
BEFORE YOU START
Canada Visitor Visa: your questions.
Do I need an invitation letter?
It depends on why you are travelling. Tell us whether you are visiting someone, travelling for leisure or planning another temporary visit so the preparation can reflect your circumstances.
Should I send bank statements in this form?
No. This form sends an initial enquiry to Travel This Year. Do not put passport numbers, financial records or sensitive documents into your initial enquiry.
How long will the visa take?
Processing varies. Use the current official IRCC processing information rather than planning around a promised approval date.
Can I use a visitor visa to work in Canada?
A visitor visa does not itself authorize work. If employment is your goal, ask about the appropriate work route and its requirements. Do not base your budget on earning money during a visitor stay.
Can someone else pay for my Canada visit?
If another person will support the visit, identify the arrangement and the evidence available. The preparation should explain the real funding source and your own circumstances; sponsorship is not a guarantee of a visa.
Is there one bank balance that guarantees approval?
No bank balance guarantees a visa. The financial preparation should make sense for your trip, funding arrangements and circumstances. Use the current official document instructions for your application.
What if I have had a visa refusal before?
Mention it in the first discussion and retain the decision letter. Your preparation should address your actual history, with any paid Canadian immigration advice handled by an authorized professional.
I really want to settle in Canada. Where should I start?
Start by saying that your goal is permanent residence or study, rather than choosing a visitor application by default. Our Express Entry and Canada study pages explain the preparation for those different routes.
